The Spring has sprung, the grass is rizz. I wonder where them birdies is?

The Spring has sprung, the grass is rizz. I wonder where them birdies is?
Winnie the Pooh
Spring is here...finally!
After weeks and weeks of dreary weather, the sun is shining and the flowers are blooming. In celebration of Spring, we decided to bake some biscuits for an afternoon tea picnic in the garden. Having taken possession of a fabulous cupcake-shaped cookie cutter from Bisk-Art, which just happens to match our fantastic idTee cupcake apron, the opportunity seemed too good to miss!
Vanilla sugar biscuits
200g unsalted butter at room temperature
200g sugar
2 large eggs
1 tsp vanilla
450g plain flour
Beat the butter and sugar until light and creamy. Add the vanilla and the eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition. Add the flour and beat until the mixture forms a dough (it may look a little crumbly at this point, but you can use your hands to bring it together).
Knead the dough lightly into a ball. Divide the ball into four portions, wrap each in cling film and refrigerate for an hour.
Bring out a portion of dough at a time and roll out on a lightly floured board to the desired thickness*. Cut out your shapes and bake in a preheated 170°C oven for 15 minutes or until lightly golden. Cool before decorating.
Decorate to your heart’s content. For these little cupcakes I used Pettinice fondant icing which I coloured before rolling out. Brush each biscuit with a little light corn syrup before applying the icing.
*A neat trick to get a uniform thickness is to use a sort of frame on either side of your dough. Your rolling pin will roll the dough out until it rests on top of your guides and voila! You have a perfect thickness each time. In this case I used wooden chopsticks (Although I’m sure the professionals have a more custom-made solution!)
Your assistants will have a lovely time cutting out and decorating these gorgeous biscuits...and an even better time eating them!
Just in time for Christmas, idTee will be offering a personalised apron and cupcake cookie cutter as a gift pack for $29.50

Tiges and Weince - Newest Member
Tiges and Weince was born from my love of designing baby and children’s wear. I have an extensive back ground in the fashion industry in both womenswear and childrenswear, so following this creative path seemed the most natural thing to do.
The products I develop are basic essentials every baby just can’t do without, bibs, burp cloths, and wipes. However there is nothing basic in my design. I love working with bright colors, due to it’s power to create a happy positive mood for everyone.
My style I would describe as a collection of simple clean lines with a classic, yet contemporary feel, and an individual twist.
Drawing is another love and I have developed an illustrated line of magnetic bookmarks. Once you use one of these you can never go back to an ordinary bookmark.
My children’s illustrations are also available in ready to be framed prints. The designs are full of fun creating an affordable way to brighten any child’s bedroom or playroom.
The motto of my brand is "funky, bright, cheerful", basically if it’s not any of those descriptions then I simply do not produce it.
I love what I do as it provides me the lifestyle I want. To be an independent business woman who can keep following my dreams, look after my son full time, and still enjoy my life.
I look forward to becoming a regular contributor on the mums biz blog and hope you enjoy reading it.

New Premmie Range for Lambykins

From the smallest seeds, tall trees do grow
Designer children’s wear companies Lambykins™ and La Toriana® are thrilled to announce their joint release of designer clothing for precious premature bubs – Lambykins’ Organic Premmie Collection and La Toriana’s Premmie Clothing Category.
Angela owner of Lambykins™ and Elizabeth owner of La Toriana® two country Mums, have been friends for over 20 years. Angela supported Elizabeth through three premature babies, two of whom became angels.
Elizabeth vividly remembers the emotional rollercoaster ride and how it was traumatic enough without being able to find clothing made specifically for premmie bubs. She was told by a nurse to go to the toy store and purchase “cabbage patch” dolls clothes or have them specially made.
“It was the last thing I needed: my babies were vulnerable enough
without seeing them in dolls clothes or oversized hospital-issued garments. I longed to have some nice clothes for my baby that actually fitted and were suitable for the NICU,” Elizabeth explains.
Lambykins™ was established in 2004 and is renowned for producing a luxurious range of Australian-made merino blankets and baby clothing. After seeing what Elizabeth went through Angela was inspired to produce not just a gorgeous Organic Premmie Collection but a collection with meaning. Each garment depicts a unique hand-drawn design and comes with a special poem on its swing tag that offers support and understanding for the parents of precious premmie bubs.
The designs, style, quality and attention to detail portray the core of the Lambykins™ brand. The Organic Premmie Collection of pants, jackets, sleeveless tops, bodysuits, hats and wraps come in 3 attractive ecodyed colours of blue, pink and ecru. The garments
are safe to use in the NICU and come in true premmie sizes from 800 grams to 7kg (up to 3 months).
Lambykins’ release of their 100% certified organic cotton Premmie Nature Range compliments their existing collection of organic baby clothing and merino wool blankets.
La Toriana is an online baby boutique that caters for premmie babies up to children 8 years of age. With a passion for organic and premmie baby clothes La Toriana specialises Australian and New Zealand baby and kids fashion with new and established designers. Her personal quest for a family after 8 IVF cycles ending in 3 premmie babies has inspired her desire to help families touched by prematurity. Elizabeth, a volunteer and sponsor of local and national premmie baby groups, donates a percentage of sales from her Premmie baby category. La Toriana is fast becoming renowned for quality, stylish and affordable designer collections as well as for providing exceptional customer service.
No wonder Lambykins and La Toriana have joined forces!

Lima bean
The ChangeMate was the one that I felt inspired, personally and financially, to pursue around the constraints of a young family. And of course, I managed to rope my sister into partnering me in the business over dinner one night. Luckily she is the one with the financial and computer skills - and I love the fact that no matter what happens we are in it together!
For me, product ideas are always a result of not being able to find the perfect item I want. In this case it was a very compact, attractive way of carrying thebasics for changing my babies, as well as being able to fit it all neatly into my favourite bag.

Daks for kids
daksforkids® was launched in 2006, half a year after my daughter Isabella was born.
The idea came about when I discovered a gap in the market for funky cotton pants for kids to play and muck around in. I wanted pants that kids could be kids in, were hard wearing, made in Australia and affordable. While there were many labels for exclusive, designer kids clothing, there wasn’t much that was really affordable, so seizing this opportunity I decided to create my own! With a background in project management I drew up sound business and project plans and recruited great suppliers. I now have a contemporary, user-friendly website (http://www.daksforkids.com.au/), online shopping and 3 ranges of pants in 16 print types.
Newto Daks is the release of 100% funky cotton dresses.
Cocorose

After receiving so much encouragement from family and friends and really enjoying the making and designing process of the bedroom accessories, I decided it would be a wonderful opportunity to start my own business working from home. I can continue designing products which are each individually handmade with great care and attention to detail, using fabrics, paints and embillishments, while still being with my girls.
